The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
