The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 But save him who fears 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 He verily will be content. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
