Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By the white forenoon 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 Did He not find you poor and suffice you? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 and do not chide the one who asks for help; 10 But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim! 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
