The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the morning brightness 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 And found thee in want, and given thee sufficiency? 8 Wherefore as to the orphan, be thou not unto him overbearing. 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
