Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the midday brightness 1 And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 and proclaim the bounty of your Lord. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
