Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you nor hated you. 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 And as to the beggar, chide thou him not. 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
