The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
