The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the forenoon (after sun-rise); 1 And by the night when it is stillest, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find thee an orphan, and shelter thee? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And found you in need, so made you prosperous? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
