Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And did He not find you in need and make you rich? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And do not rebuke the beggar. 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
