The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. 11
