The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the morning hours 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
