Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the bright forenoon, 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 soon you will be gratified with what your Lord will give you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
