The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the morning hours 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 But tell of the favors of your Lord! 11
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
