Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the bright forenoon, 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 For your Lord will certainly give you, and you will be content. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 And found you deeply engrossed in His love, so directed you? 7 Did He not find you poor and enrich you? 8 Do not oppress the orphan, 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
