The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you (Prophet Muhammad), nor does He hate you. 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find you poor and enrich you? 8 Do not oppress the orphan, 9 And as to the beggar, chide thou him not. 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
