The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the morning brightness, 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). 4 For your Lord will certainly give you, and you will be content. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
