Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By the morning brightness, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 Did He not find you a wanderer so He guided you? 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 And as to the beggar, chide thou him not. 10 But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim! 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
