Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the morning brightness 1 And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 Verily your Lord will soon give you so amply that you will be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
