Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

By the white forenoon 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you, 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 Did He not find you poor and suffice you? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
