Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa) before The Afternoon (Al-'Asr)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

۞ Have We not expanded for you your breast, 1 And relieve you of the burden – 2 Which weighed down thy back. 3 And did We not exalt your fame? 4 For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. 5 Verily, with the hardship, there is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannot overcome two reliefs). 6 So, whenever you are free, strive in devotion, 7 And incline towards your Lord. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
