The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
