The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
