The Embryo (Al-Alaq)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or orders piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
