The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
