The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
