The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
