In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
