The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
