In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
