The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
