The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
