The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
