The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
