The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
