In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
