The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
