The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
