The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
