The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
