The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
