The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
