The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
