The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
