The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
