In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
