The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
