The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
