The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
