In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
