The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or orders piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We will now call the guards! 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
